X Abstract

This book accompanied an exhibition of the same title held September 14 through December 31, 2005 at the Iris & B. Gerald Cantor Center for Visual Arts at Stanford University, and February 24 through June 25, 2006 at the Wolfsonian, Florida International University. This exhibit, and resulting catalog, is unusual in that it classifies posters into particular graphic conventions, iconographic elements, and themes related to political crowds, instead of the more typical structure of chronology, artist or political ideology.
