Velocity operator in Heisenberg formalism (operators instead of states changing in time) has longitudinal and transverse component. The transversal time-dependent movement of photon gives orbital angular momentum that accounts for its spin...

Is this a quasi-classical interpretation?

X Abstract

A single photon, satisfying a relativistic Schrodinger-like equation, has a velocity operator that undergoes oscillations in a direction orthogonal to its momentum. This Zitterbewegung has a spatial amplitude equal to the classical wavelength. The spin of the photon is the orbital angular momentum due to the Zitterbewegung.

CiteULike organises scholarly (or academic) papers or literature and provides bibliographic (which means it makes bibliographies) for universities and higher education establishments. It helps undergraduates and postgraduates. People studying for PhDs or in postdoctoral (postdoc) positions. The service is similar in scope to EndNote or RefWorks or any other reference manager like BibTeX, but it is a social bookmarking service for scientists and humanities researchers.
