Hope and Cope Project

I am helping someone to create a compendium of articles about hoping and coping. The papers should mainly be in french.

With this little project, I shall gain some experience in assisting research.

Tags Fights

There is a need for different kinds of tags. I need to identify projects or problems, and states of processing. I need one drop box and one miscellaneous box.

  1. church-thesis
  2. formal-guides
  3. john-searle
  4. artificial-education

General tags create big collections. They are more difficult to recall, since the reason why we add one text to one collection is obscured by the generality of the concept. This concept is usually a project. When the project is too big, it seems better to divide according to the main topics.

Some topics are not interesting to mention. The only topics worth using as tags are those one really want to research. For example, all my guides for various formalisms go under the same tag. The topic remains implicit. This is a bunch of resources I use without researching.

Particular tags can create more conflicts. The list get bigger. The identity of the research area may vary. Do I research computationalism or the Church thesis ? Both, but at a different level. I feel the need to separate both, since I may use the Church thesis outside the topic of computationalism. Besides, computationalism may be replaced by another topic under which the Church thesis would not fall. This all depends on the way my cursus develops. I should not be dependant on this development.

Both have their maintenance problems.

What to do with this blog ?

I don't like comments in BibTex files.

Difficult to maintain. Poor separation of structure from data. Notes and comments can be of various kinds. Review of multiple sources is virtually impossible. Etc.

I will try to keep notes for myself. My reviews will be posted here at first. This blog should then be a way to publish first drafts of commentaries, reading notes, surveys of litterature, etc.

A blog needs to be updated. This need should give me an incentive to read more often and more thoroughly. I will try to update this blog with one article every week.

This seems a lot. But this seems what needs to be done for now.
